What Angers Me?

I was asked yesterday, "What angers you enough to do something about it?"

That's a rather profound question and I did take a minute to ponder it.  But, it really didn't take long for an answer.

The poor state of health of so many people in our country.  I'm especially talking about the chronic degenerative conditions like:

  • arthritis
  • fibromyalgia
  • chronic fatigue
  • heart disease
  • chronic pain
  • rheumatoid

What frustrates me most is the massive volume of misinformation regarding these conditions. The Bible says, my people perish for a lack of knowledge.  I believe just as often it is incorrect knowledge.  For instance, one commercial that truly frustrates me and my wife is the cholesterol drug commercial that says: "When diet and exercise aren't enough."  We have not seen a case where diet and exercise didn't lower cholesterol, but it has to be the right diet.

We have been "trained" to just trust our health and well-being to the medical profession, rather than assume some of the responsibilty ourselves.  It's amazing how just slight dietary improvements and gentle exercise can change lives.

We live in an information age, but we need the right information no matter what we are doing. The same is true of health.

For years my wife and I have said we feel like salmon, always swimming upstream.  But, that's alright because our goal is to try to reach as many people as possible with the knowledge they need to take control of their own health and the health of their families.
