Peanut Butter Protein Shake - YUM!

 

This shake is one of my all-time favorites!!! It is perfect for:

  • no time for breakfast
  • weight loss meal replacement
  • a healthier version of a peanut butter icecream milkshake
  • not just acceptable but actually GOOD for diabetics & people with heart disease & high cholesterol!

Start with a healthy protein powder - vanilla flavor. Make sure the ingredients are "clean" (all natural with no additives or artificial ingredients including no artificial sweeteners like sucralose).

Two of our favorites that we have available in our office are

You will also need peanut butter... the real stuff! Again, get an all-natural version with no hydrogenated fats such as:

Now for the recipe:

  • 1 Cup Whole Raw Milk
  • 1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1 Cup Ice Cubes
  • 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter 

Put all ingredients into blender. Mix on med-high until smooth (~1 min.)

How to Identify Genetically Modified Foods in the Grocery Store

Not many consumers realize that the FDA does not require genetically modified food to be labeled.

That’s because the FDA has decided that you, the consumer, don’t need to know.

Some consumers may not be concerned with eating Frankenfood, but for those who are, here’s how to determine if the fruits and vegetables you’re buying are (GM) genetically modified.

Here’s how it works:

For conventionally grown fruit, (grown with chemicals inputs), the PLU code on the sticker consists of four numbers.

Organically grown fruit has a five-numeral PLU prefaced by the number 9.

Genetically engineered (GM) fruit has a five-numeral PLU prefaced by the number 8.

For example:

A conventionally grown banana would be: 4011

An organic banana would be: 94011

A genetically engineered (GE or GMO) banana would be: 84011

These tips are specially important now that over 80% of all processed foods in the US are genetically modified.

Many countries in the European Union have been banning GM products and produce (including Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary and Luxembourg).

Say a Prayer...

A man addicted to drugs had no hope and, with the guidance of his girlfriend, decided to reach out to God. What happens after that is amazing.
This man is battling heroine addiction... and asking God to help him. I believe that God is eager to help ALL of us who ask Him for help... even those of us with seemingly more minor addictions... like food. May the Lord help Thomas Coates... and bless the Secret Santa as well!
